About Us.

Whitworth Veterinary Practice Ltd. is a friendly, independent practice proudly owned and run by local vets. For over 40 years, we've been at the heart of the Felixstowe community, offering high-quality veterinary care for pets across the town and surrounding areas.

We believe in making veterinary care accessible, which is why we offer extended opening hours to better suit our clients’ busy lives. Our modern facilities are paired with traditional values, creating a unique and personal experience that sets us apart as a truly independent practice.

At Whitworth, we provide lifelong, compassionate care for your pet—from the moment they join your family to their senior years. We treat every animal as if they were our own and aim to support you, their owner, every step of the way.

Our mission is to keep your pets healthy and happy. Our flexible Pet Health Scheme is designed to make preventative care simple and affordable. We also run puppy classes to guide new pet owners, and nurse-led clinics focused on maintaining wellness and providing support. You’re always welcome to pop in for a chat—we love seeing our clients and their pets!

If your pet becomes unwell, our long-standing team of experienced vets work closely together to diagnose and treat illness with the highest standard of care. Our vets continue to train regularly, staying up to date with the latest in veterinary medicine.

Charities We Support:

We are proud to contribute to our local community and support local charities and inititatives including an onsite seal unit for British Divers Marine Life Rescue to support seals found in need on our coastline. In our practice, we have a number of pet supplies for sale, helping to raise money for these charities.

Pet Health Scheme

Our team at Whitworth Vets care about the health of your pets and believe in the benefits of preventative medicine. Our Pet Health Scheme allows you to spread the cost of annual preventative care over the year with monthly direct debits. This will cover the costs of vaccination, worming and flea treatment and a 6 month health check. You will also receive discounts on a range of other services and products.

Whether your animal is recovering from surgery, managing a chronic condition, or suffering from an injury. Led by Daisy Huxtable, MSc VetPhys,

MNAVP with many years experience in Veterinary Physiotherapy & Hydrotherapy dealing with complex rehabilitation cases.We are fully insured and qualified with Registered Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary nurses on site at all times should we need them.

Offering personalised treatment plans for every dog, which builds trust confidence and connection. All plans and treatments are based around clinical history and veterinary referral.

Veterinary Physiotherapy

Veterinary physiotherapy helps improve the mobility, function, and quality of life of animals recovering from injury, surgery, or living with chronic conditions like arthritis. It uses techniques such as massage, stretching, hydrotherapy, and therapeutic exercises to reduce pain, enhance healing, and restore movement. This therapy supports faster recovery, helps prevent further injury, and can even improve performance in working and athletic animals.

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy is a non-weight bearing therapy which uses the properties of water to create a holistic treatment for the dog.

Hydrotherapy can benefit behaviour, orthopaedic, neurological & medical conditions as well as geriatric

OUT OF HOURS CARE

In order to provide the highest level of emergency care out of hours, MiNightVet in Melton cover our out of hours service. MiNightVet have a dedicated team who are highly trained in emergency and critical care and are dedicated to the wellbeing of their patients. They will be in close communication with our own veterinary team.

We hope you rarely have to use the out of hours service, but if you do, we are confident the dedicated out of ours team will provide an excellent service.

Out of hours costs from MiNightVet are as follows:

Out of hours consultation weekdays and weekends : £243.20

Out of hours cosulation bank holidays: £333.20

In the event of an emergency out of hours, please call our normal number (01394 271 112) and you will be redirected to the dedicated emergency team at MiNightVet in Melton. Alternatively, you can call MiNigthVet directly on 01394 389 199.

Veterinary Surgeons

    Dr Jamie Whittle

    Originally from Surrey, Jamie joined Whitworth VP after graduating from Liverpool University in 2002. Practice Principal since 2011, he has grown the practice, extending the surgery and adding the hydrotherapy pool in 2019. Jamie enjoys all aspects of veterinary work and is responsible for veterinary nurse and new graduate training. Outside of work he is a keen sailor and is welfare officer at Waldringfield sailing club.  The family have two rescue dogs, Lily and Wilson and a cat called Zola adopted as strays.

    Dr Katherine Creamer

    Katherine grew up in Canada and her first degree was a Masters in Neuroscience. She moved to the UK for her second degree and graduated in veterinary science from the University of Edinburgh. Katherine joined Whitworths in 2013, bringing her passion for veterinary medicine to the team. She has completed a post graduate certificate in veterinary medicine,involving over a hundred hours of studying. She enjoys all aspects of her work, with a particular interest in cardiology.

    Married to Tom, Katherine has two lively children. The family have regular adventures in their campervan and love travel. Her other interests include reading, gardening, walking and cooking. Katherine has a rescue dog, Eleni and has fostered kittens.

    Dr Tricia Goulden

    Originally from Middlesex, Tricia graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1984, with a distinction in veterinary medicine. She moved to West Suffolk in 1987 and worked for twenty years at a practice in Bury St Edmunds. In 1998, Tricia achieved the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Dermatology. In 2014 she moved to Whitworth Veterinary Practice, left for two and a half years in 2016 coming back to the team in 2019. She is interested in all companion animal work, with a particular interest in dermatology.

    Tricia lives locally with labradors Bertie and Nigel and fabulous Frank the cat. Outside of work her interests include cycling, walking, gardening, reading, painting and playing the piano

    Dr Michal Reszka

    Michal joined the team in 2016. He graduated from the University of Lublin, Poland in 2013. He is interested in all aspects of small animal practice.

    Tara Liffen

    Tara is the Head Nurse at Whitworth Veterinary Practice and has been part of the team since 2002. She qualified from Writtle College in 2005 and now works part-time, primarily behind the scenes. Tara particularly enjoys supporting the vets in theatre, where there’s rarely a dull moment and a wide variety of cases to get involved in.

    Outside of work, Tara is a mum to a soon-to-be teenager and shares her home with Iris, her elderly tortoiseshell cat, who she rescued at just five weeks old and has had by her side ever since.

    Meghan Robinson

    Meghan joined Whitworths nursing team in July 2022 following  a placement at the practice during a two year Animal Management course at Otley College. She is studying to be an RVN ( registered veterinary nurse) at the Central College of Animal Studies .

    Meghan has worked for five years as a customer services assistant and then manager at a Coop in Ipswich

    Her job interests are hospitalised patient care and emergency critical care. Outside of work she enjoys long walks with her dog Brody and getting out into the countryside.

    Megan Gambrill

    Megan studied with Meghan at Otley College, also completing the two year Animal Management course with a placement at Whitworths. She joined the reception team in January 2022 and transferred to the nursing team in July. Megan has started her veterinary nurse training with Meghan at the Central College of Animal Studies. Megan’s IT skills bring great technology support to the team. She has taken on the role of our social media team leader.

    Megan’s interests include video games, socialising and having fun!

    Her pets are a cat called Pog, a snake called Rex and a Leopard Gecko called Blue

    Jenny Mann

    Jenny first joined Whitworths in 1997 and was with the practice for eight years. Following fifteen years at a neighbouring practice, she re-joined us in June 2022. Jenny has an NVQ level 2 in animal care and is a qualified ANA (animal nursing assistant).  She has volunteered for animal charities, including the Blue Cross and Cats Protection League and spent time in Sri Lanka helping an animal welfare organisation. Her interests include small furries and all aspects of client care.

    Jenny has a teenage son and away from work enjoys power walking, socialising with friends and walking her boys, lurchers Forrest and Walter. As well as the boys she has Norbert the cat and Madge the hamster.

    Teagan Vincent

    Teagan is a student veterinary nurse and joined our team in 2025. She works at the practice alongside her academic nursing studies.

    Skyla Cope

    Skyla joined Whitworth Veterinary Practice in March 2025 while studying for her animal care qualification at college. She has a keen interest in canine behaviour and training. At home, she cares for two cats, Holly and Marla, a Border Terrier named Pippin, a Schnauzer cross called Layla, and Buddy the tortoise.

    In her spare time, Skyla enjoys helping her mum run their family cattery, taking the dogs on scenic walks, and spending time with friends.

    Wendy Scrivener

    Born in Felixstowe, Wendy worked in animal rescue before joining Whitworths in 2002. She is responsible for the administrative side of the practice and quietly keeps everyone and everything under control. Wendy is also skilled in veterinary nursing and animal care and has a passion for grooming patients. She has a particular interest in animal welfare and has raised thousands of pounds for animal charities.

    Outside of work, Wendy is kept busy by her three grandchildren and enjoys walking, reading, cinema and going to the theatre. She has four dogs; two cats; a tortoise and many rabbits and guinea pigs. Wendy has hand-reared multiple animals of all species over the years, the most unusual being baby rheas!

    Laura Marsh

    A Trimley girl, Laura joined the practice in 2007. As well as working on reception, she has also worked behind the scenes and is trained in all aspects of animal care. Laura manages the practice PHS scheme and the monthly reminders and is a whizz on the computer.

    Laura has a gorgeous son, Ajay, who keeps her and her partner Adam busy! Outside of work, the family enjoy country walks, cycling and family get togethers.

    Lucinda Moore-Pain

    Lucinda joined out team in 2018, she has 3 black labradors & 4 german shepherds, 7 cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens & 2 tortoises. She also breeds black labradors.

    Nicki Potter

    I rejoined Whitworth VP in February 2024, having previously worked here between 2005 and 2008. It’s wonderful to be back as part of such a dedicated and caring team. Outside of work, I stay busy with my lively Staffie, Suki, and enjoy spending time with my grandchildren—both of whom definitely keep me on my toes!
